State College, PA – A winter storm is set to bring heavy snowfall across central Pennsylvania, with accumulations reaching up to 7 inches in some areas. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning, in effect until 10 p.m. Monday.
According to the National Weather Service, Bedford, Fulton, and Somerset counties can expect between 5 and 7 inches of snow, with the heaviest snowfall likely Monday morning. Franklin and Adams counties, including Chambersburg and Gettysburg, are forecast to receive 4 to 6 inches. Hazardous road conditions could disrupt the morning and evening commutes.
Residents are advised to take precautions, including carrying emergency supplies such as flashlights, food, and water if traveling. Road conditions across Pennsylvania can be checked by dialing 511.
Motorists should expect reduced visibility and slippery roads throughout the day. Snowfall is expected to taper off late Monday evening.
