Columbus, Ohio – A frost advisory is now in effect for parts of central Ohio, as temperatures dip as low as 35°F overnight, potentially causing frost to form from 2 a.m. to 8 a.m. Saturday. Residents across Delaware, Fairfield, Franklin, Hocking, Licking, Pickaway, Union, Pike, and Ross counties should take action now to protect tender outdoor plants.

According to the National Weather Service, sensitive vegetation could be damaged or killed by frost if left uncovered. The affected areas include major cities like Columbus, Delaware, Lancaster, and Chillicothe, where colder-than-usual temperatures will linger through the early morning hours.

Homeowners are urged to cover plants or bring them inside to avoid damage. Temperatures will remain chilly throughout the night, and while no widespread frost or freezing temperatures are expected, areas away from city centers could experience the coldest conditions.

The advisory will remain in effect until 8 a.m. Saturday, and additional updates may follow as conditions change.
