Ohio – Snowfall is set to impact much of central and southern Ohio starting Friday afternoon, bringing accumulations of 2 to 4 inches. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for areas including Franklin, Delaware, and Ross counties, lasting until Saturday morning.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), snow will begin this afternoon, with the heaviest accumulation expected before midnight. This weather event will likely create slippery road conditions, particularly along I-70, I-71, and other major highways. Travelers are urged to exercise caution, as hazardous conditions are expected to affect the Friday evening commute and persist into early Saturday.

The advisory covers a wide swath of Ohio, from Delaware and Lancaster to Chillicothe and Portsmouth. Snowfall totals could reach 4 inches in localized areas, especially in higher elevations. Temperatures will hover around the low 20s tonight, with winds reaching 5 to 8 mph.

Saturday’s weather is forecast to remain cold and cloudy, with a high near 27°F. Snow may linger in the early morning hours before tapering off. Drivers should check road conditions via OHGO.com and prepare for possible delays.

Looking ahead, Sunday brings partly sunny skies and slightly warmer temperatures, with highs nearing 30°F. Another chance of snow emerges late Sunday night into Monday.

Residents are encouraged to plan their travels accordingly and stay updated with local forecasts.
