Binghamton, NY – Residents of Central New York and Northeast Pennsylvania can expect a mix of sunny days and occasional rain as they head into the weekend and early next week. Temperatures will remain mild, with highs generally in the 50s, offering a brief reprieve before wetter weather moves in by midweek.

According to the National Weather Service, today’s forecast calls for mostly sunny skies with highs around 52 degrees. Tonight will be mostly clear, with temperatures dropping to about 35 degrees. Saturday promises another day of bright skies and mild conditions, with temperatures peaking near 53 degrees. Winds may increase slightly, reaching up to 10 mph, creating breezy but pleasant conditions for outdoor activities.

Sunday will continue the trend of dry weather, with a high around 54 degrees and calm winds. However, clouds will gather by Sunday night, bringing a slight chance of showers and a low around 40 degrees. The first half of next week will usher in increasing chances of rain, especially by Tuesday, with a 50% chance of showers by Thursday, when highs will range between 46 and 54 degrees.

Drivers on local highways, including I-81 and Route 17, should prepare for slick conditions if rain intensifies midweek. The National Weather Service advises travelers to monitor updates as the week progresses, particularly for potential impacts from scattered showers expected Monday through Thursday.

This blend of sunny and rainy conditions highlights the region’s typical fall weather, where residents can experience clear skies and warm days followed by sudden rain showers. Locals should keep an umbrella handy and plan outdoor activities accordingly this weekend before rain likely settles in for much of next week.
