Indianapolis, IN – A winter storm is set to bring snow, ice, and freezing rain to Indiana through early Thursday, making travel hazardous across the region. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory until 4 a.m. Thursday, warning residents of slick roads, especially on bridges and overpasses.

According to the National Weather Service, areas across central, east-central, north-central, and west-central Indiana can expect up to three inches of snow and a quarter-inch of ice accumulation. Roads, including I-65, I-70, and I-69, are expected to be particularly dangerous during the Wednesday evening and Thursday morning commutes.

Thursday will see gradually clearing skies with a high near 30°F, while Friday brings a brief break with sunny conditions and a high of 35°F. However, another winter storm is expected Saturday, bringing a mix of snow and rain through the weekend—potentially impacting Valentine’s Day plans.

Drivers should slow down, allow extra travel time, and check local road conditionsby dialing 511. Pedestrians should also be cautious on icy sidewalks and driveways. Stay updated with the latest forecasts and advisories at weather.gov/ind.
