Indianapolis, Indiana – Sunshine and warm temperatures will dominate central Indiana this weekend, giving residents a stretch of classic summer weather before showers and thunderstorms return early next week.

According to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis, Friday and Saturday will be mostly sunny with highs near 79°F and light northeast winds. Saturday night will remain clear and comfortable, with temperatures dipping to 60°F, making for ideal evening plans across Marion, Hamilton, and Hendricks counties.

By Sunday, temperatures will climb to 82°F under sunny skies, but a shift arrives late Monday as a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms develops, especially after midnight. Scattered storms could impact both the morning and evening commutes Tuesday across the greater Indianapolis metro, including along I-465 and US-31, with gusty winds and brief downpours possible.

While severe weather is not expected, residents are advised to secure outdoor items and have devices charged for potential power interruptions. Those attending weekend events or traveling statewide should enjoy favorable driving and outdoor conditions through Sunday evening.

Rain chances remain low through Wednesday, with another round of scattered storms possible by midweek. Updates and additional advisories may be issued as weather systems approach.
