Central Indiana Braces for Mid-90s Heat and Severe Storms This Weekend

Indianapolis, IN – Central Indiana is set to experience scorching temperatures and potentially severe weather this weekend. The US National Weather Service in Indianapolis has forecasted highs in the middle 90s for Friday and Saturday, with heat indices expected to approach 100 degrees in many areas.

According to the National Weather Service, the high temperatures will persist through Sunday, which is expected to reach around 90 degrees. The combination of extreme heat and humidity will make for potentially dangerous conditions. Residents are advised to stay hydrated, avoid strenuous outdoor activities, and check on vulnerable individuals such as the elderly and young children.

In addition to the heat, the forecast includes the possibility of scattered storms throughout the weekend. Some of these storms may bring gusty winds and heavy rain. The weather service warns that these conditions could lead to localized flooding and wind damage.
