Central Illinois Weather: Showers, Thunderstorms, and Patchy Fog to Start June

Peoria, IL – Central Illinois residents can expect a cool and showery start to June, with thunderstorms and patchy fog affecting the area today and tonight.

According to the US National Weather Service Central Illinois, a low-pressure system moving through the region will bring widespread showers and thunderstorms today, with temperatures ranging from 69 to 73 degrees. Tonight, patchy fog is likely to develop due to lingering moisture in the area, with lows between 59 and 64 degrees. Sunday will see partly cloudy conditions with highs around 80 degrees, offering a brief respite from the wet weather.

The active weather pattern will continue into early next week. Monday is expected to bring a higher chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly to areas west of I-55, with temperatures climbing to between 81 and 86 degrees. Tuesday will see a 50-70% chance of showers and thunderstorms, with highs ranging from 82 to 87 degrees. The stormy weather will persist into Wednesday, with a 30-70% chance of showers and thunderstorms and highs between 80 and 85 degrees.
