According to the National Weather Service in Lincoln, a Hazardous Weather Outlook remains in effect Monday, June 9, until 9 p.m. for much of central, east-central, and southeastern Illinois. Counties impacted include Champaign, McLean, Piatt, and Vermilion. Spotter activation may be needed through the evening, with storms racing east-southeast at nearly 50 mph.
While the threat eases overnight, drier air moves in by Tuesday, June 10. Expect mostly sunny skies with a high near 79°F and breezy southwest winds up to 16 mph. Wednesday brings a significant warm-up, reaching 86°F with light winds and full sun.
