Lincoln, IL – Tonight, Central Illinois residents will have a chance to witness a partial lunar eclipse beginning at 7:41 p.m., although partly cloudy skies could limit visibility in some areas. The eclipse will continue until around 12:47 a.m. Wednesday, coinciding with a Harvest Moon and Supermoon.
According to the National Weather Service, mostly clear skies are expected across the region tonight, with temperatures dropping to the upper 50s. However, some clouds may appear Wednesday night, limiting views of the celestial event in parts of the area.
Looking ahead, warm and dry conditions will persist through Thursday, with highs reaching 87 to 90 degrees. By Friday, there’s a slight chance of thunderstorms, particularly west of I-55, carrying over into Saturday with a 20% chance of showers. Lows will range from the mid-50s to mid-60s.
Residents are advised to stay weather-aware, especially during the weekend when thunderstorm chances increase.
