Lincoln, IL — Scattered showers will move into Central Illinois this afternoon as a low-pressure system crosses the state. The mild and breezy weather will continue through Friday before cooler air arrives this weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, today’s high temperatures will range from the mid-50s to low 60s, with a chance of rain in various parts of the state. Winds will remain breezy, especially on Thursday, before turning gusty on Friday with highs reaching the low 60s.

By Saturday, temperatures will drop significantly, with highs in the upper 30s to mid-40s. Overnight lows will range from the 20s to 30s. Expect drier conditions by the weekend, but a cooler air mass will settle across the region.

Residents should prepare for changing weather conditions and monitor forecasts for further updates. Rain today could impact travel, so allow extra time on the roads. Windy conditions on Friday may cause minor disruptions.
