By Wednesday, powerful northwest winds will develop, with gusts up to 50 mph. The wind and rain could cause hazardous travel conditions, especially on highways like I-55 and I-74. Rain may transition into snow Wednesday night north of I-74.
Thursday will be cooler and dry, with highs in the mid-40s. Another storm system could bring rain and snow by Friday.
