Melbourne, FL – Residents and visitors in Melbourne are advised to exercise caution along beaches south of Cape Canaveral due to a high risk of rip currents today. The National Weather Service warns beachgoers to avoid swimming in unsafe areas and to heed local advisories, as rip currents can pose life-threatening hazards.

According to the National Weather Service, today’s conditions in Melbourne will be partly sunny with a high near 81 degrees, offering warm and dry weather across the region. Northeast winds are expected at 5 to 15 mph, providing mild breezes to accompany the pleasant autumn temperatures.

Looking ahead, Monday will bring partly sunny skies and a slight chance of showers in the afternoon. High temperatures will remain consistent, around 81 degrees. Winds may pick up slightly, with gusts reaching up to 20 mph. By Tuesday, there’s a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening, with gusty winds up to 25 mph.

Wednesday marks a shift as sunny skies return, although windy conditions will intensify with gusts up to 30 mph, lasting through Thursday. Temperatures are expected to hover in the low 80s, providing a sunny yet breezy midweek outlook.

In addition to local conditions, meteorologists are monitoring a tropical disturbance in the Caribbean, which currently holds a 30% chance of development over the next seven days. While it’s too early to determine potential impacts on East Central Florida,
