Melbourne, FL – Motorists across Central Florida woke up to thick fog Thursday morning as a Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 8 a.m. EST.
According to the National Weather Service, the advisory covers Inland Volusia, Northern Lake, Orange, Seminole, and Southern Lake counties. Visibility is expected to drop to one-quarter mile or less, creating hazardous driving conditions. Cities such as Orlando, Sanford, Winter Park, Clermont, and Deltona are among those affected.
Drivers are advised to reduce speed, use low-beam headlights, and maintain extra distance from other vehicles. Commuters should plan for potential delays during the morning rush hour.
The fog is anticipated to lift by mid-morning as temperatures rise, but motorists are urged to remain cautious until conditions improve.
