Orlando, Fla. – Drivers and residents across Orlando should prepare for thunderstorms and gusty winds beginning Friday afternoon, with unsettled weather continuing through early next week.

According to the National Weather Service in Melbourne, showers and thunderstorms are likely between 2 and 5 p.m. Friday, with a 60% chance of precipitation and wind gusts up to 25 mph. Local rainfall totals are expected to remain under a tenth of an inch, though heavier amounts are possible in isolated storms.

Saturday brings another 50% chance of afternoon storms, particularly after 2 p.m., while Sunday is expected to offer a brief break with sunny skies and highs near 90°F. Thunderstorm chances return Monday afternoon and continue daily through at least Wednesday.

Residents in downtown Orlando, Winter Park, and along I-4 should remain alert for slick roads and sudden downpours during evening commutes. Wind-prone areas may see minor tree debris or temporary outages. Outdoor plans, especially near lakes or parks, should be reconsidered during peak storm hours.

The National Weather Service recommends securing outdoor items, staying indoors during lightning, and monitoring alerts for rapidly changing conditions.

Storm chances persist into next week, with updated advisories likely as weather patterns develop.
