Tampa, FL – Hurricane Oscar is tracking well away from Florida, leaving the Tampa Bay area free from any significant impacts. The storm, currently affecting Cuba, is expected to weaken as it interacts with the island’s mountainous terrain. Oscar will shift northward and eventually east-northeast, keeping it far from the Florida peninsula.

The National Weather Service has confirmed that no severe weather related to Hurricane Oscar is anticipated in Tampa. The local forecast calls for sunny skies and warm temperatures, with highs reaching 86° today. Northeast winds of 9 to 11 mph will keep conditions breezy but calm, allowing for pleasant weather throughout the week.

Oscar’s winds, currently at 75 mph, will gradually decrease as the storm moves away from land, diminishing the threat of any severe weather. Tampa residents can expect continued clear and sunny conditions, with lows dipping into the upper 60s during the evenings. The tranquil weather is expected to last through Friday, with high temperatures remaining in the mid-80s and no rain in sight.
