Pueblo, CO – Freezing fog and icy conditions greeted travelers across central and southeast Colorado early Tuesday, creating hazardous road conditions. Drivers along the I-25 corridor are urged to exercise caution, as slick roads and reduced visibility are likely through late morning.

According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, temperatures remain frigid, with morning lows near 12°F in Pueblo and single digits in the mountain valleys. Freezing fog is expected to dissipate by midday, giving way to sunny skies and highs near 39°F in Pueblo and surrounding areas.

Looking ahead, warmer and drier weather will dominate the rest of the workweek. Wednesday brings clear skies and temperatures climbing into the upper 40s. Thursday will see partly cloudy conditions with highs near 51°F. Mountain areas, including regions near the Continental Divide, may experience light snow Thursday evening into Friday, potentially impacting higher-elevation travel.

By Friday, most of the region will enjoy sunny and mild conditions, with highs reaching the low 50s in the Plains and mid-40s in the mountain valleys. Weekend forecasts show continued warmth, with highs near 53°F in Pueblo by Saturday under clear skies.

Motorists are reminded to stay alert for patchy morning fog and icy patches on bridges and shaded areas through the week. Plan for slower commutes, and keep updated by checking forecasts regularly.
