Birmingham, AL – Rain showers and thunderstorms are expected to sweep across Birmingham tonight as cooler weather moves into the area. The National Weather Service reports that most areas north of I-85 have a high chance of precipitation.
According to the National Weather Service, rain is forecasted to begin this evening and persist until early Tuesday morning. Temperatures will drop into the upper 40s tonight, with winds reaching up to 20 mph. Precipitation totals are expected to remain under a tenth of an inch.
Tuesday will bring a significant shift, with clearing skies and highs around 60 degrees in Birmingham. Winds will blow from the north at 10-20 mph, delivering cooler, drier air. By Tuesday night, lows will dip to around 40 degrees under mostly clear skies.
The cooler trend will continue throughout the week, with highs in the mid-60s Wednesday and only 49 degrees Friday. Rain may return Wednesday night into Thanksgiving morning, but clear skies are predicted for the weekend.
Residents should prepare for changing conditions and monitor updates. Gusty winds tonight could cause brief disruptions.
