Wilmington, NC – A wet Thanksgiving Day is on the horizon for the Carolinas as a cold front approaches the region. Residents can expect mild temperatures early in the week before conditions turn cooler after Thursday.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, scattered showers may occur Tuesday as a weak front moves through. Most of the week will remain dry with above-average temperatures, peaking in the lower 70s. By Thursday, a stronger front will bring widespread rain across the Carolinas. Temperatures will drop sharply following the rain, with highs in the 50s on Friday.

The National Weather Service has issued a Small Craft Advisory for coastal areas due to strong winds and rough seas Thursday night into Friday. Inland conditions remain calm with no land-based hazards expected.

Thanksgiving travelers should prepare for wet roads Thursday, while boaters along the coast should monitor sea conditions closely. Friday will bring sunshine but colder weather, with lows in the 30s.
