Oswego, NY – A winter weather advisory is in effect for Oswego, Watertown, and Lowville, with 3 to 6 inches of snow expected by Friday morning. Hazardous road conditions could make travel difficult, particularly on bridges and overpasses.

According to the National Weather Service, snow will begin around 6 p.m. Thursday and continue through 6 a.m. Friday. Drivers should prepare for reduced visibility and slick roads, especially during the Friday morning commute. Temperatures will hover in the low 30s, with gusty winds making conditions feel even colder.

Further north, Caribou, Maine, is also set to receive snow. Light snowfall will begin Thursday afternoon, accumulating 2 to 4 inches by Friday morning. Conditions will clear briefly on Friday before another system brings snow showers Saturday into Sunday.

Weekend Forecast and Next Week’s Outlook

Saturday will bring heavier snowfall to Maine, with accumulation expected throughout the day and temperatures staying below freezing. New York’s Tug Hill and Adirondack regions could see additional snowfall as a second system moves in Friday night into Saturday.

By Sunday, temperatures in both states will plummet, with lows dipping below zero in Maine. Another round of snow and rain is likely by midweek, possibly impacting travel again.

Drivers should monitor weather updates and allow extra travel time, especially on major roadways. Stay prepared for winter conditions as February ends and March begins.
