Candia, NH – A Manchester teen was arrested early Saturday after allegedly driving the wrong way on Route 101 in Candia, leading to multiple charges including aggravated DUI, reckless conduct, and transportation of alcohol by a minor.

According to the New Hampshire State Police, troopers began receiving reports at around 3:22 a.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2025, of a wrong-way vehicle traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of Route 101 near Raymond.

Troopers from both the Troop A and Troop B barracks located the vehicle — a silver 2009 Honda Civic — traveling westbound in the eastbound high-speed lane in Candia. Officers safely stopped the car near mile marker 64.6, preventing potential collisions.

The driver was identified as Savannah Leigh McClaughry-Bertelsen, 18, of Manchester. Police say she was arrested and charged with reckless conduct, aggravated DUI, DUI, reckless operation, open container, and transportation of alcoholic beverages by a minor.

McClaughry-Bertelsen was taken to the Rockingham County Jail and later released on personal recognizance bail. She is scheduled to appear in Candia District Court on Monday, November 17, 2025.

Route 101 eastbound was briefly closed during the investigation, according to authorities.
