The advisory affects the West Slope Northern Sierra Nevada and Western Plumas County, including Quincy, Chester, and Blue Canyon. The heaviest snowfall is expected early Sunday morning and again Sunday afternoon and evening, with rates reaching 0.5 to 1.0 inches per hour at times.
Travelers should prepare for difficult driving conditions, including slick roads, chain controls, and possible delays. The hazardous weather may impact commutes through Monday morning.
