Sacramento, CA – A winter storm warning is in effect for Northern California, forecasting heavy snow and hazardous travel conditions.
The National Weather Service issued the warning from 4 a.m. Friday to 10 p.m. Saturday, impacting regions from Southwestern Shasta County to Western Colusa County. According to the NWS, Friday morning and evening commutes could be treacherous. The storm will intensify Saturday, with heavy snow and poor visibility expected to persist. Travel in the region should be avoided if possible.
Travelers must check road conditions using Caltrans’ QuickMap or by dialing 511. Those who must drive should carry a winter storm kit, including blankets, food, and water, in case of emergencies.
