Sacramento, CA – A wind advisory remains in effect for Northern California until noon Saturday, bringing gusts of up to 55 mph and heavy rain. Residents across the Sacramento Valley and Delta regions should secure outdoor items and prepare for possible power outages. Hazardous travel conditions, especially for high-profile vehicles, are anticipated on Interstate 5 and Highway 99.
According to the National Weather Service, southeast winds of 20 to 30 mph, with gusts up to 55 mph, will persist overnight. The strongest winds are expected in open areas, particularly along the Carquinez Strait and foothills. Additionally, heavy rainfall may lead to minor flooding in low-lying areas, with up to one inch of precipitation expected by early Saturday afternoon.
Saturday’s forecast includes lingering showers and isolated thunderstorms, with a high near 56°F. Small hail, brief heavy rain, and lightning are possible, primarily in the afternoon. Conditions will improve Saturday night with clearing skies, though dense fog may develop, reducing visibility for late-night drivers.
The extended forecast for Sacramento shows a mix of sun and clouds Sunday, with highs in the mid-50s. Showers return Monday with a 60% chance of precipitation. By midweek, drier conditions and highs near 58°F are expected.
Residents should stay updated with weather alerts, use caution while driving, and avoid unnecessary outdoor activities during periods of high wind.
