San Francisco, CA – Gusty winds continue to sweep across the Bay Area as a wind advisory remains in effect until 10 a.m. Wednesday. North to northeast winds of 20–30 mph are expected, with gusts reaching up to 50 mph in higher elevations and valleys.

According to the National Weather Service, the advisory covers San Francisco, the East Bay, the North Bay Interior Valleys, and the Santa Cruz Mountains. These winds could knock down trees, blow unsecured objects, and potentially cause power outages. Residents are urged to secure outdoor furniture, avoid driving high-profile vehicles, and stay alert for debris on roadways.

The most affected areas include the San Francisco Peninsula Coast, the Marin Hills, and Point Reyes National Seashore. Travelers along Highway 101 and Interstate 280 should use caution, as gusts could make driving hazardous, particularly for trucks and RVs.

Temperatures are expected to remain mild, with highs in the mid-60s on Tuesday and Wednesday, followed by sunny conditions through Friday. Overnight lows will hover in the mid-40s, creating chilly evenings for residents.

Looking ahead, the weekend promises mostly clear skies and highs in the low 60s, offering relief from the windy start to the week. However, the strong winds pose immediate risks, so residents should remain vigilant through Wednesday morning.
