San Francisco, CA – Strong winds and rain continue to impact California’s Bay Area and coastal regions, with a wind advisory in place until 10 a.m. Saturday. Gusts reaching 55 mph have been reported, particularly at higher elevations and along exposed roadways like Highway 1.

According to the National Weather Service, the advisory extends across the North Bay, East Bay, Santa Clara Hills, and Big Sur. Winds of 15 to 30 mph are expected, with gusts exceeding 60 mph at elevations above 2,500 feet. The combination of strong winds and saturated ground raises the risk of downed trees and power outages. Residents should secure outdoor objects and prepare for travel delays, particularly on coastal highways and bridges.

A narrow frontal rain band will continue moving through the region, bringing showers overnight and into early Saturday. Highs on Sunday are expected to reach 61°F, with lighter winds and clearing skies by midday. However, rain will return Sunday night and persist through Thanksgiving week, with a 90% chance of precipitation on Monday and Tuesday.

Travelers should monitor local updates for road closures and delays. Conditions are expected to improve by Thanksgiving, with mostly sunny skies forecasted by Thursday.

Stay updated on evolving weather conditions, and exercise caution on the roads, especially during high wind periods.
