California – Travelers and residents across Kern County and the Mojave Desert Slopes are advised to prepare for strong winds forecasted to sweep the region late Monday. The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory, anticipating gusts between 45 and 70 mph along the Tehachapi Mountain range. Starting Monday night and lasting until early Tuesday morning, these conditions may create hazardous travel, particularly for high-profile vehicles on local roads. Visibility may be reduced due to blowing dust, and drivers are urged to proceed with caution, especially in open areas vulnerable to strong gusts.

According to the U.S. National Weather Service Hanford Office, the west-to-northwesterly winds, triggered by a passing disturbance, are expected to impact Kern County Desert and Mojave Desert Slopes from 9 p.m. Monday until 7 a.m. Tuesday. These conditions may make it challenging to drive, with sudden wind gusts potentially requiring corrective steering to maintain control. High-profile vehicles, such as trucks and trailers, should avoid travel on roads like California State Route 58 through the Tehachapi Pass if possible.

Looking ahead, the weather forecast for Hanford, CA, shows a mix of rain and mild temperatures for Veterans Day, with a high near 69°F and rain chances increasing in the evening. Monday night brings further rainfall with lows around 46°F. Tuesday’s skies are expected to clear up with a high near 62°F, followed by sunny conditions continuing through Wednesday and Thursday, where highs will reach the mid-60s.
