Sacramento, California – A Wind Advisory is in effect for the Delta and Sacramento Valley from 8 a.m. Sunday, May 4, until 8 p.m. Monday, May 5, as gusty northerly winds move across the region. Winds are expected to reach 45 to 50 mph, with the strongest gusts occurring west of I-5 and along the Delta.

According to the National Weather Service, wind speeds will range from 15 to 30 mph, with gusts peaking in the 45 to 50 mph range. The highest winds are anticipated to affect areas west of Interstate 5, including Sacramento, Stockton, and Fairfield. Local officials are urging residents to secure loose objects and avoid traveling if possible during peak wind times.

In addition to creating difficult driving conditions, the strong gusts could bring down trees and power lines, particularly in areas where trees have been weakened. This may lead to power outages and debris blocking roads.

Residents should be prepared for potential disruptions and take steps to stay safe through Monday evening as the advisory remains in effect. Keep an eye on local alerts for any updates or further warnings.
