San Francisco, California – High winds could make travel hazardous and outdoor conditions risky across parts of the Bay Area as gusts near 50 mph sweep through the region until 2 p.m. Monday.
According to the National Weather Service in San Francisco, a Wind Advisory remains in effect for the North Bay Interior Mountains and East Bay Hills from 9 p.m. Sunday through 2 p.m. Monday. North winds between 20 to 30 mph, with gusts up to 50 mph, are expected. These conditions could make it especially difficult for high-profile vehicles to maintain control on roads like Interstate 580, Highway 24, and Mount Diablo Scenic Boulevard.
Residents in areas such as Santa Rosa, Concord, and parts of Alameda and Contra Costa counties may also see unsecured outdoor objects blown around and minor tree damage. Emergency officials recommend securing patio furniture, trash bins, and other loose items ahead of the winds. Drivers of large trucks, vans, and trailers should use extra caution, particularly in exposed or elevated areas.
Winds are forecast to diminish by mid-afternoon Monday, but similar advisories could return later this week if conditions persist. The NWS urges residents to stay alert for further updates.
