Sacramento, California – Blistering sunshine and rising heat will grip much of Northern California on Friday as Sacramento prepares for 95°F temperatures — the hottest day of the week. With dry conditions and climbing winds, the risk of fire danger and heat-related illness will rise sharply, especially along major corridors like I-5 and Highway 99.

According to the National Weather Service, Sacramento will reach a high of 93°F on Friday with southwest winds near 6 mph. Saturday brings even more heat, topping out around 95°F. Skies will stay clear through the weekend, locking in daytime highs in the mid-90s and overnight lows in the upper 50s and low 60s.

For residents heading outdoors or commuting, avoid strenuous activity during peak afternoon hours. Stay hydrated, wear light clothing, and never leave pets or children inside vehicles. Fire crews also urge caution with open flames or power tools in grassy areas.

Cooling relief remains limited through early next week. Monday and Tuesday continue the summer surge with highs near 95°F. No rain or cloud cover is expected.

This marks Sacramento’s first extended June heat streak, with above-normal temperatures expected to last through at least Tuesday. Residents should prepare for several days of dry heat and stay alert for potential heat advisories.
