Sacramento, California – After a stretch of above-average warmth, valley temperatures across Northern California are sliding back into the comfortable 70s today, offering a welcome cooldown for midweek travelers and residents.
According to the National Weather Service in Sacramento, Wednesday’s highs will range from the upper 50s along the coast — including Eureka at 57°F and Fort Bragg at 58°F — to mid-to-upper 70s inland, with Redding hitting 79°F and Red Bluff peaking at 78°F. The Sacramento metro area will hover around 74°F, while Stockton and Modesto see similar readings.
The Central Valley corridor from Marysville through Fresno will enjoy highs in the 70s under partly sunny skies, while areas west of the Sierra crest, including Lake Tahoe and Susanville, stay cooler in the upper 50s to mid-60s.
Travelers along I-5 and Highway 99 should expect dry roads and light winds, though elevated terrain could see gusty conditions late in the day. Residents are encouraged to hydrate and limit outdoor work during the warmest hours.
