San Diego, CA — Foggy mornings and cloudy afternoons will dominate San Diego’s weather as spring settles in across Southern California.

Commuters should expect patchy fog by sunrise Thursday, especially along the I-5 and I-8 corridors. The National Weather Service warns visibility could drop to under a quarter-mile in low-lying coastal areas. Motorists are urged to slow down and use headlights during early commutes.

According to the National Weather Service, fog is expected to lift by mid-morning Thursday, with skies turning mostly cloudy. Highs will hover near 67°F, which is seasonable for late March. Winds will remain light, but the persistent marine layer will keep conditions cool and damp near the coast.

Thursday night will bring continued cloud cover with lows around 55°F. Friday through Saturday remains mostly cloudy, with temperatures in the mid-60s. Inland areas may see slightly warmer conditions, but the coast will stay cool due to marine air.

By Sunday, gradual clearing is expected, offering some sun before clouds return Monday. No rain is forecast through Tuesday, but daily patchy fog and reduced morning visibility remain a concern through the weekend.

Five-Day San Diego Spring Weather Outlook:

  • Thursday: Patchy fog, then mostly cloudy. High 67°F.

  • Saturday: Partly sunny. High 64°F.
