Sacramento, CA – Rain is set to return Friday across the Sacramento Valley, potentially disrupting commutes and outdoor plans. Widespread precipitation, concentrated in northern areas and foothills, could bring over half an inch of rain in some locations.
According to the National Weather Service, showers are most likely after 4 p.m. Friday, with highs near 54°F and light southeast winds of 7 mph. Rainfall totals are expected to vary between a quarter and half an inch. Motorists should anticipate slick conditions, especially on Interstate 5 and other major roadways.
Patchy fog may develop Thursday night before the rain begins, reducing visibility for late-night drivers. Light showers are possible through Friday night, although conditions will clear by Saturday morning, leading to partly sunny skies with highs near 53°F.
The extended weekend forecast shows more favorable conditions. Sunday and Monday are expected to bring sunny skies and highs in the mid-to-upper 50s. However, overnight temperatures will remain cool, dipping into the low 40s.
Residents should prepare for wet conditions Friday and take extra precautions while driving. Outdoor activities are best planned for the drier days over the weekend.
