San Bernardino, CA – Residents in western San Bernardino County should brace for gusty winds on Friday as a Wind Advisory takes effect, bringing cooler temperatures and potentially hazardous conditions. High winds could disrupt travel and outdoor plans, with gusts reaching up to 45 mph in areas like Barstow and Fort Irwin. The advisory is set to last throughout Friday, urging residents to secure loose objects and take precautions on the roads.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Las Vegas, strong westerly to southwesterly winds will sweep across the region starting Thursday night, peaking Friday, with gusts expected to reach 45 mph. This shift in weather patterns is likely to cool down temperatures over the weekend, with highs dropping to the low 60s in Barstow and surrounding areas.

For Friday, the NWS predicts a sunny day with a high near 64 degrees, accompanied by south-southwest winds at 13 to 15 mph and gusts as high as 22 mph. Winds are expected to calm down by Friday night, although temperatures will remain low, with a forecasted low around 42 degrees. The cool trend will continue into Saturday, with a high near 59 degrees and clear skies, while Sunday and Monday are expected to remain sunny with highs around 62 to 64 degrees.

Residents are advised to monitor weather updates and take steps to secure any outdoor items that could be affected by high winds. The windy conditions could also lead to dropping temperatures, so it’s a good time to prepare for cooler days and chilly nights. Travelers along major routes like Interstate 15 should remain cautious, as strong gusts can impact driving conditions.
