Sacramento, CA – Spring in Northern California is arriving with a mixed bag of sunshine, breezy conditions, and an increasing chance of rain heading into the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, Sacramento can expect a mostly sunny Wednesday with a high near 72°F. However, a shift begins Wednesday night with a 20% chance of showers and gusty winds reaching up to 22 mph, especially along I-5 and exposed areas in Sacramento County.

Thursday will bring a slight chance of morning showers, with clearer skies by afternoon and a high near 65°F. Winds will calm slightly but remain present through Thursday evening. Drivers should remain alert during commutes, especially near roadways like I-80 and I-5, where gusts may affect visibility and vehicle control.

Friday and Saturday bring more dry conditions with highs near 65°F, but weekend plans may need adjusting. Rain chances return Saturday night with likely showers by Sunday. Daytime highs will hover in the mid-60s, cooler than average for late March in the Sacramento Valley.

Residents are encouraged to secure outdoor items midweek and monitor updates from the California Department of Transportation, especially for highway conditions. Light showers are not expected to cause flooding, but road slickness is possible during early morning and late-night commutes.

Looking ahead to Monday, scattered showers remain in the forecast, keeping conditions cool and unsettled into the start of next week.
