Sacramento, CA – Thunderstorms and heavy showers will continue to disrupt Sacramento into Tuesday night, bringing wind gusts strong enough to impact road travel.

According to the National Weather Service, residents can expect storms until at least 11 p.m. Tuesday, with south winds shifting west and gusting up to 29 mph. Rainfall may be less than a tenth of an inch, but heavier amounts are likely within thunderstorm cells. Motorists on I-5 and other local highways should prepare for slick roads and reduced visibility.

The weather will shift dramatically midweek. After Tuesday’s stormy conditions, skies clear by Wednesday with a high near 63°F. Winds will taper off, but gusts may still reach 20 mph. Thursday and Friday will be sunny, with highs in the mid-60s to lower 70s. Weekend temperatures will rise further, nearing 76°F by Sunday.
