Sacramento, CA – Drivers across the Sacramento area are urged to use caution as dense fog blankets the region today. Visibility may drop below a quarter-mile overnight, especially along major roadways like I-5 and Highway 99, posing a safety hazard for travelers.

According to the National Weather Service, widespread dense fog is expected until late morning Saturday, with frost in some areas. Morning lows will hover near 35°F, potentially creating slick conditions on untreated roads. Commuters should allow extra travel time and use low-beam headlights when driving through foggy areas.

By mid-afternoon Saturday, skies will clear, bringing sunshine and highs near 58°F. Saturday night will see patchy fog return before midnight, with calm winds and lows around 38°F.

Sunday’s forecast promises a welcome break from foggy conditions, as mostly sunny skies take over with highs reaching 59°F. Overnight temperatures will again dip to around 40°F, maintaining the potential for frost in outlying areas.

Looking ahead, Sacramento will enjoy a string of sunny days through midweek. Monday’s high is forecasted at 62°F, with clear skies persisting into Tuesday and Wednesday. Low temperatures will remain cool, averaging 40°F overnight.

For travelers, patience and preparation will be key as fog impacts visibility along major corridors. Local residents are advised to plan outdoor activities for late mornings and afternoons when sunny conditions prevail.
