San Diego, California – Fog will blanket the San Diego area by Tuesday morning, slowing down commutes along I-5 and coastal routes until midday.
According to the National Weather Service, patchy fog will develop before 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 10, limiting visibility across metro San Diego and nearby communities. Drivers are advised to allow extra time, use headlights, and avoid sudden stops on freeways like I-805 and Highway 163.
After the fog lifts, expect mostly sunny skies with a high near 72°F on Tuesday. Winds from the southwest will stay light, between 5 to 10 mph. Tuesday night will bring another round of patchy fog, especially after 11 p.m., followed by partly sunny skies Wednesday and a slight temperature rise to 74°F.
Morning fog will continue to impact the region daily through Friday, June 14. While no severe weather is forecast, cooler-than-normal June temperatures will persist, part of the ongoing “June Gloom” pattern typical along the California coast.
By the weekend, skies are expected to clear earlier each day, signaling a gradual shift into warmer summer weather. Still, early risers and commuters should remain cautious due to recurring dense fog in the mornings.
⚠️ Next Update: Expect additional NWS advisories if visibility drops below ¼ mile. Morning fog remains likely through Friday.
