Hanford, CA – After a stretch of warm, dry conditions, Hanford and the surrounding Central Valley will see a shift in the weather pattern this week. Rain and possible thunderstorms are expected beginning late Tuesday, bringing cooler temperatures and a wet commute for residents midweek.

According to the National Weather Service, the first round of rain is expected late Tuesday night into Wednesday, with a 30% chance of showers in the morning. By Wednesday night, heavier rainfall will move in, with winds gusting up to 15 mph and a 100% chance of precipitation.

Thursday will bring the most significant weather activity, with thunderstorms possible after 11 a.m. Winds will pick up out of the south at 5 to 10 mph before shifting northward. Rain totals could range from a quarter-inch to a half-inch, with localized flooding possible.

By Friday, the storm system begins to weaken, but scattered showers remain in the forecast. Highs will drop to the mid-50s, marking a noticeable cooldown from Monday’s 72°F high.

Looking ahead to the weekend, another system may bring additional rain chances by Saturday evening. Residents are advised to prepare for wet roads, drive cautiously, and stay updated on forecast changes.
