Hanford, CA – A Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 11 a.m. Friday, creating hazardous travel conditions across the San Joaquin Valley. Visibility is reported at less than a quarter-mile in many areas, with some locations as low as 200 feet, including key highways like Highway 99, Route 198, and I-5.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the advisory spans from Merced County to Kern County, including Hanford, Visalia, and Fresno. Drivers are urged to slow down, use low-beam headlights, and maintain extra distance between vehicles. The fog is expected to linger through Friday morning, potentially causing travel delays.

By Saturday, patchy fog is anticipated early in the morning, clearing to reveal mostly sunny skies with highs near 68 degrees. Calm winds will provide more favorable conditions for outdoor activities. Overnight, fog may return but remain less widespread than earlier in the week.

Looking ahead, Sunday will bring cooler temperatures around 63 degrees and the potential for more areas of dense morning fog. By Monday night, light rain could impact travel, with a 30% chance of precipitation forecasted into Christmas Eve.

Travelers should check live weather updates before setting out, especially if navigating impacted routes like Highway 99 or Route 198. For weekend plans, early risers should prepare for limited visibility during morning hours but can expect clearer afternoons.
