Buffalo, NY – Residents of Western New York will enjoy dry and sunny weather Saturday and Sunday, thanks to high pressure dominating the region. While outdoor activities will benefit, the region remains 3 to 6 inches below normal precipitation for the season. Rain is expected to return Sunday night, followed by unsettled weather next week.

According to the National Weather Service, Sunday will bring mostly sunny skies with temperatures reaching a high of 54°F. By Sunday night, a cold front is forecast to generate scattered showers and possible thunderstorms after midnight, with rain chances peaking at 60%. Drivers on Route 5 and other major roadways should anticipate slick conditions into early Monday.

Next week begins with mild conditions Monday as temperatures rise to 55°F under mostly sunny skies. However, chances for rain increase Tuesday afternoon, with a 40% likelihood of showers moving into the area. Southeast winds will pick up Tuesday night, potentially fueling stronger showers.

Rain will continue Wednesday, when highs reach 57°F. Commuters should plan for wet roadways and reduced visibility during morning and evening hours. Looking ahead, widespread soaking rain may occur later in the week, providing much-needed relief from the ongoing dry spell.

Residents are encouraged to monitor updates and prepare for wet conditions midweek. If planning travel, allocate extra time for road safety.
