Flagstaff, AZ – A wave of near-record warmth will sweep across northern Arizona through midweek, sending temperatures soaring across multiple cities.

According to the National Weather Service in Flagstaff, Tuesday marks the peak of the heat with sunny skies and light southwest winds. Highs are projected to reach 91°F in Camp Verde, 83°F in Payson, and 81°F in Prescott. Flagstaff will hit a more moderate 71°F, while Show Low and Window Rock both stay in the mid-70s.

Wednesday will stay unseasonably warm, though clouds and a few isolated sprinkles could develop. Breezy conditions begin Thursday as temperatures start trending downward.

Wind speeds will increase by Friday, with gustier southwest breezes helping drive a weekend cooldown. By Saturday, highs will dip to 56°F in Flagstaff and hover in the 60s across much of the region.

Residents should stay hydrated and avoid prolonged outdoor exposure during peak afternoon hours. Those in fire-prone areas should be cautious, as dry, windy conditions increase the risk heading into the weekend.

This warm spell contrasts with seasonal March temperatures and marks one of the region’s earliest heat surges. Cooler air is expected to dominate next week.
