Bourbonnais, IL – Firefighters from the Bourbonnais Fire Protection District and several other local fire agencies responded to a chemical leak at the CSL Behring plant early Wednesday morning.

According to Fire Chief Jim Keener, the incident occurred just after 7 a.m. when an employee was transferring a corrosive material from a tank. During the transfer, the connection to the tank broke off, resulting in a spill inside the building. The spill was contained within the facility, preventing any external contamination.

No injuries were reported in the incident. The hazardous material, identified as a corrosive substance, is currently being cleaned up by specialized crews.
