Lubbock, TX — Winds gusting up to 35 mph and patchy blowing dust will impact Lubbock and surrounding areas today, with warmer temperatures reaching the mid-50s. Residents should prepare for reduced visibility and secure outdoor items as conditions peak this afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service, southwest winds will increase to 20–25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. These winds are expected to calm into the weekend, offering mostly sunny skies and cooler temperatures for Saturday and Sunday. Looking ahead, a 30–40% chance of rain returns midweek, with highs in the mid-50s by Wednesday. Stay updated on changing conditions by checking local forecasts and heeding advisories from the National Weather Service.
