Spokane, WA – A blowing dust advisory has been issued for the Columbia Basin, Palouse, and Spokane area. Drivers are urged to be cautious on Wednesday, with dangerous driving conditions expected.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Spokane, the advisory lasts from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Wednesday. Visibility in affected areas may drop to between ¼ and 1 mile. Major highways, including I-90 from Vantage to Spokane and Highway 395 from Ritzville to the Tri-Cities, are expected to be impacted.

The NWS warns that dust storms can lead to sudden visibility loss, making travel extremely hazardous. Drivers should avoid high-speed travel and use extreme caution. The weather service recommends keeping headlights on and maintaining extra distance from other vehicles.
