Bloomington, IL: Correctional Officer Arrested Over Alleged Inmate Relationship

Bloomington, IL – A McLean County Correctional Officer has been arrested following allegations of an inappropriate relationship with an inmate.

According to Sheriff Matt Lane, the McLean County Sheriff’s Office was informed on June 24 of an alleged inappropriate relationship between an inmate at the McLean County Detention Facility and Correctional Officer Samantha Beck. The matter was immediately investigated. On June 25, Beck’s employment with McLean County was terminated. A warrant was issued for her arrest, and she was taken into custody on June 28.

Beck was charged with one count of Custodial Sexual Misconduct and one count of Official Misconduct. She is currently held pending her first court appearance.

Beck is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Sheriff Lane noted that this is an ongoing investigation, and no further information is available at this time.
