Blizzard to Bring Near-Zero Visibility Across Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska Through Tonight

Sioux City, IA – A powerful blizzard is set to impact northwest Iowa, southwest Minnesota, and northeast Nebraska on Wednesday, bringing heavy snowfall and damaging winds up to 65 mph.

According to the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls, a Blizzard Warning remains in effect from 4 a.m. to 7 p.m. CDT Wednesday. Snow and sleet accumulations will range from 2 to 9 inches, with strong winds creating near-zero visibility and dangerous travel conditions.

The storm is expected to significantly impact the Wednesday morning and evening commutes, particularly in cities like Sioux City, Spencer, and Storm Lake, IA; Jackson, MN; and Dakota City, NE. The high winds may also cause tree damage and power outages.
