Baltimore, MD – Maryland residents are bracing for a significant snowstorm expected to hit Friday, bringing heavy snow and dangerous conditions. Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories are in effect across the region, with the heaviest snow predicted in the mountains.

According to the National Weather Service, snow will begin early Friday morning in western Maryland and spread east throughout the day. Areas along I-81 could see snow by mid-morning, with I-95 impacted from 1 to 3 p.m. Forecasters expect 6-10 inches of snow in the mountains, with near-blizzard conditions likely. Central Maryland, including Baltimore, is projected to receive 1-3 inches, while northern Virginia and parts of West Virginia may see less than an inch.

Temperatures will drop into the teens and 20s Friday night, creating icy road conditions. Officials urge residents to avoid unnecessary travel and prepare for potential disruptions.
