Blacksburg, Virginia – A stretch of mild spring weather in Blacksburg will be interrupted by scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms Tuesday, with more rain expected Thursday into the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, a slight chance of showers will develop Tuesday morning, increasing to a 30% chance of storms after 2 p.m. Winds will shift west at 5 to 7 mph, and temperatures will reach a high near 69°F. While severe weather is not expected, isolated thunderstorms may produce brief downpours across Montgomery County, especially along Route 460 and nearby foothill roads.

After a dry Wednesday with mostly sunny skies and a high near 73°F, rain chances return Thursday morning and increase to 50% by midday. Conditions remain unsettled into Friday and Saturday, with daily rain chances between 30% and 40%, keeping roads damp and skies mostly cloudy.

Expect patchy morning fog Monday and Tuesday before rain chances pick up, especially in valleys and lower elevations.
