Binghamton, NY – A powerful snowstorm blanketed upstate New York, dropping more than a foot of snow in several areas. Binghamton and surrounding communities were among the hardest hit.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Binghamton, snow totals varied widely across the region. Some spots recorded less than an inch, while others exceeded 15 inches. The updated snowfall map, released Wednesday afternoon, highlighted areas in Broome, Tioga, and Susquehanna counties as the most affected.

Local roads remained treacherous as plows worked around the clock to clear major routes. Authorities urged drivers to proceed with caution and avoid unnecessary travel. The storm also caused isolated power outages due to heavy snow on power lines.

Forecasters expect milder conditions later this week, but officials reminded residents to remain vigilant. Further updates on weather conditions and road safety will follow.

The NWS thanked residents for submitting local snowfall reports, which helped refine their analysis. This early-season storm serves as a reminder for residents to prepare for winter weather.

Snowfall Totals:

• Binghamton: 12.5 inches

• Endicott: 10.7 inches

• Vestal: 11.8 inches

• Owego: 9.6 inches

• Montrose, PA: 14.0 inches

• Deposit: 15.3 inches

• Norwich: 8.5 inches

• Oneonta: 6.0 inches
